Mortals built the Celestial Realm in response to the bad things that happen in the universe. They built it in order to have a safe place go after their brief, danger-filled lives. But before this, there were mortals who sought to take advantage of one another, and when one of them died, this individual sought what became known as the Path of Power in the afterlife. Billions of years ago, one of the very first mortals chose the Path of Power, and he became Hiriv, the Adversary.

He built the Infernal Realms as a meager reflection of the horrors of the living realm and the powers of his predecessors, the Eldritch. And he used his power to tempt others to evil. He tempted mortals to the Fall. He tempted mortals with power. He built class society.

He is the Adversary.

And he waits, he schemes, he plots, he plans, and he grows in power.
