| Description | A grine appears to be just like whomsoever it has targeted to steal the identity of. |
| Procreation | Follows the mother. |
| Magic | One in five million have heart or soul magic. Mind and body magic are possible. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Grines are beings in a parallel realm whose lives correspond perfectly to someone's on Shem. Any time someone looks into a mirror on Shem, the grine has a chance to pull them through and trade places with them, but only if that person has fulfilled one of six criteria: # They entered the parallel realm before.# They are looking into a mirror in the grine nation of Oram on Fasune. # They are an otherwise decent person who has told a particularly hurtful lie. # They are an otherwise hurtful person who has told a particularly hurtful truth. # They are a follower of the Mother of Lies who has been unfaithful or sinful. # They are a follower of the Mother of Truth who has been unfaithful or sinful. Grines on Shem have the ability to perfectly replace their counterpart. |
| Weaknesses | Truth magic or faith can banish or harm them. |
| Culture | Grines live exactly as anyone on Shem does, but their realm is slightly off. Once on Shem, they attempt to lead people astray and make them susceptible to other grines. Shemmish folk in the grine realm are free from grine influence, and vice versa. |
