| Description | At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, dragons grow to be extremely long serpents with grey scales. |
| Procreation | Grey dragons steal eggs from other dragons and corrupt them. |
| Esoterica | Grey dragons have absorbed vast amounts of msawhat. Infernum, bone, shadow, and arnum are common as well. Divine energies are not unheard of. Other powers tend to be corrupted by msawhat, but some variation occurs. Holy powers are impossible unless thoroughly corrupted. |
| Special Powers | Dragons gain new powers as they accumulate more energies. At each stage of growth, they gain a new ability, usually culminating with the twelfth ability when they accumulate . The usual progression of powers is as follows:
All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects. Other common powers include summon shambler army, control spectral undead, phase through stone, burn souls, and paralyzing touch. |
| Alternate Forms | Grey dragons sometimes take the form of a human skeleton. |

| Subspecies | Bone dragons are grey dragons that have become undead through accumulating msawhat. They lose all flesh and exist as serpentine skeletons that breath msawhat-flame and bore tunnels through the ground. They upend graves and send the corpses out as corporeal undead, and any they kill become a spectral undead. They can command any undead being. |
| Culture | Grey dragons dwell in the wastelands of Malaer, where they live in small cabals and turn locals into undead slaves. They use these slaves to find dragon eggs to steal and corrupt, to gather their hoards, and to serve their other needs. The cabal has a strict hierarchy of power and any deviance from it creates a schism that splits the cabal and brings on in-fighting that often ends in many fallen dragons and at least two new cabals. When grey dragons grow old, they seek to become bone dragons or wraiths. |
