Description: Like wingless imps with green tinged skin & more height (4'6").

Procreation: Gremlins procreate with gremlins. When a gremlin procreates with another demon, the result is the race of the mother. When gremlins procreate with non-demons, a rare occurence, generally the offspring dies at birth, killing the mother, & resembles nothing more than a lump of burning flesh.

Magic: 1/200000 have soul magic, 1/1000000 have heart magic. Mind and body magic are possible but very rarely learned. They can have faith, always black, almost always darkness (or spider), & never more than 6 or 7 at most. They can use void normally.

Special Powers: Gremlins are the big cousins of imps, older, stronger, quicker, wiser, but without the wings. Some gremlins are imps who have ascended to a higher power. Like imps, gremlins can create an area of personal darkness, but at greater frequency--about 12 times a day. If they kill someone within their dark aura, they can devour the soul of the victim. They can also mutate themselves with every 1000 pure souls that they devour, but they do not ascend to a higher form (thus, eventually, some gremlins get wings). They can always vomit acid at will. They are immune to mundane fire, & it is a difficulty of 7 with dark magic or faith to summon or control one. Pain knights & stronger demons can control them at will.

Culture: They are the upper crust of the servant class. They exist to serve other demons, & spend most of their time doing so. However, when they are free, they exist ot gain power. They seek souls of great purity to gain powers. The most powerful gremlins can rival some of the more powerful demons. However, most powerful gremlins are killed by stronger demons before they become a problem.

Notables: Walsem, the first gremlin, child of Deserel & Orobona, it dwells in the Hells, overseeing the construction of the Black Furnace, a device used to burn the impurities of the souls of the damned so that they might serve as proper food for the demons. The furnace has not been completed, & it probably never will be.
