| Description | Greater crows appear to be anthropomorphic crows. There are five normal morphs: Blue, Devil, Palhuric, Night, and Common. Greater blues are simply bluish black in hue, but very large--about 7' tall. Greater devil crows are ashy grey with black hood-feathers, tails, and thighs, with brown dark brown eyes. Greater Palhuric crows are all black, with iridescent feathers. They are smaller, about 5'5" tall, and are seen to bob their heads as they speak. Greater night crows are purplish black and of medium size (6'). Greater common crows are black with green or purple sheens, black beaks and legs, and stout beaks. They are average in height (6'), and they have bristly feathers around their nostrils. |
| Procreation | Follows the mother. |
| Magic | One in five million have heart or soul magic. Mind and body magic are possible. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Greater crows are very intelligent. Greater Palhuric and night crows are known as great toolmakers and users, and they are noted for their cunning use of said tools. Greater Palhuric crows are known to be able to humiliate people with taunting. Greater devil crows are known to be able to see through the glamours of unseelie, are often skilled warriors, and have prophetic powers. Greater blue crows are known to be able to take souls from willing victims. Their beaks cause bad luck when they strike people with them. Greater common crows fly slower. |
| Weaknesses | Certain diseases are known to affect greater crows. Holy magic or faith can harm them. |
| Culture | Greater common crows are generally solitary beings, except in hard times, when they band together in murders. They use their distinct kraa' call to communicate over distances, and their social times are known to be incredibly noisy. They have reputations amongst themselves as egg-thieves--even when they are social, they don't trust each other. They will build their bulky stick nests anywhere, often without permission, and raise clutches of 4-6 eggs at a time. They usually keep their children as slaves for a few years to help take care of the other children. Greater devil crows are known as corbies. They are migratory, keeping to the Ansulymic continent. They are known to be murderous, using their flying abilities to carry victims high up, then drop and kill them--just for fun. They lay brown-speckled blue eggs. Greater night crows are known for their waa waa waa cries, which are heard throughout the forests and islands where they live and scare their victims. They dwell in tree nests and hunt other mortals for sport, not food. Greater Palhuric crows are the least evil. They have a caaw caaw caaw' cry that they use to call their mates, whom they have monogamous relationships with. Otherwise, they tend to be fairly normal beings. Greater blue crows are known to be soulbrokers. They often trick people into selling their souls by posing as wisemen, servants of Death Herself, or protectors of monks and saints. They are blasphemous, and this is what turned them bluish black--they used to be white before their fall. |
