| Description | There are three stages to gasthers: spawn, pupa, and imago. Spawn appear to be bloody boils growing out of the ground. Pupa are floating masses of red flesh with a black mark where their main eye will be and bumps where the eyestalks will grow. They do have mouths with which to feed, though. An imago gasther is a bloody mass of red flesh with one blood-shot eye & nine black eyestalks. The mouth is a hole of bloody fangs, & the irises of the eyes are the color of dried blood. |

| Special Powers | The blood of any stage of gasther, which drains out of every possible area, is like hellfire acid, burning the souls of anything it touches. It clings to the victim, refusing to be wiped off. Anything afflicted by it must use holy water to cleanse. The main eye of an imago gasther can unleash a beam of pure dark energy, utterly destroying any holy race & harming any neutral race. Evil races are resistant, but not immune. The eyestalks each have a random dark power. They are immune to unholy magic & faith. They can levitate themselves, usually. Spawn will have an aura of unholy energy, and the pupa's mouth is akin to that of a demon's--damning and poisonous. |
| Weaknesses | Light magic or faith can harm or kill a gasther. |
| Culture | Gasthers are one of the few beings in the Hells with actual bodies (as opposed to demons, which are souls made flesh). A gasther is usually kept as a pet by powerful blood demons. They lust after blood themselves, & they get very little in the Hells. If a flesh & bone body enters the Hells, they generally swarm it. |
