| Description | Whippers appear to be anthropomorphic ferns about 4' tall. Their soulmates, fung khuns, appear to be masses of mobile vegetation. |
| Procreation | Whippers reproduce via sporing. Their soul mates, fung khuns, reproduce via sporing, too. Every spore has a bound spore. |
| Magic | 1/200,000 whippers have heart or soul magic. 1/1000 fung khuns have heart or soul magic. Mind magic & body magic are possible, but very rare, as is void. Faith is common. |
| Special Powers | Whippers and fung khuns are connected via their souls, which are tied tightly to each other. Whippers have whip-like arms covered in leafy fronds. The touch of their fronds will induce horrifying hallucinations in their victims. They can control ferns. Fung khuns like to set ambushes by camouflaging themselves in their surroundings. They are connected to other fung khuns via their rhizomes underground, which they can detach from at will. It's harder to reattach, but it is possible. They can devour victims by engulfing them. They can control ferns. |
| Weaknesses | Dream magic or faith hurts them. If the fung khun dies, the whipper dies. If the whipper dies, the fung khun dies. |
| Culture | Whippers live in small groups that hunt together, finding victims in the wilderness where they dwell. The fung khuns disguise themselves and spend most of their time sleeping, unless foolish prey comes near. |
