| Procreation | Estries make other women estries by drinking their blood and infecting them with illness. If they do not eat bread and salt before they die, they become estries. |
| Magic | One in five million have heart or soul magic. Mind and body magic are possible. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Estries can use their hair to fly, if it is unbound. Estries are immune to religious iconography, but potent faith can still harm them. They are able to walk into holy places, unlike other vampires. The prayers of the good can be used to heal them, if the faithful making the prayer does not know the true nature of the estrie. They regenerate when they drink blood. |
| Weaknesses | An estrie is under the control of whomever controls her hair. If wounded, an estrie must eat the bread and salt of the one who harmed her. Though they prefer the night, they are not harmed by daylight. A defeated estrie's mouth must be filled with earth when she is buried. Decapitation and burning would also keep them down. |
