Elena's argent-fire manifests similarly to her brother Cary's: through her sight. She can see not life & death, but the threads of someone's life, past, present, & future. However, doing so causes her see her own, & the vision of this is terrifying. She prefers more mundane ways of reading someone.

Elena grew up in the New Anlir home temple, mostly observing how the running of a household works, and helping babysit children of visitors. When she turned sixteen, she went to live among her mother's family, the traveling Roma. During those days, she learned that leading a tribe is much like running a household, & eventually, she helped Lyuba Lovell take leadership in a culture traditionally male dominated. Lyuba's brother, Laetshi, had long ago died in a horrible murder, witnessed by Elena's brother Cary.

Elena is a very practical-minded person, but absolutely adores children. Her skills include cold-reading, fortune-telling, and psychology. As such, she makes her spare change, while on the road, practicing these arts in the streets of busy cities. Every once in a while, she invokes her power to see the threads of life, & in doing so, she fears she cements the fates she sees. When she tries to prevent some tragic fate, her actions inevitably end up causing that tragic fate. As such, she very rarely invokes her powers, unless it is drastically important.
