Elven powers work two ways: first, when a group of elves lives in an area, they begin to dominate life there, shaping the environment around them simply by existing. Second, the way they live their lives determines the sort of abilities they develop as they grow up.

For elder elves, the world around them slows down. Time seems to crawl, making everything live about three times as long as it normally would, & continue to develop during that time at a normal but unabated pace--so a human being could theoretically have 200 years of youthful life before succumbing to the affects of old age, & still adapt as quickly as ever during those years.

Individual powers relate to time.

Elder elves in their own societies live slow, relaxed lives. They tend to be scholarly, bookish sorts, never much straining themselves. Their forests, growing for 3 times as long, are much larger than others. As such, they live in thick, dense areas that others rarely find.

Outside their own societies, elder elves tend to freak out, believing that everything moves far too fast. They generally adapt slowly to this new environment, but when they do, the powers that manifest tend to make them extremely skilled in it.

Like all elves, they bear an inherent superior attitude that other races usually deem as arrogant. Furthermore, all elven societies are matrilineal.
