A supernatural mongoose that can look at the Cockatrice or a basilisk and not die. It is the enemy of dragons, crocodiles, and snakes, especially asps. When facing an enemy, it coasts itself several times in mud, seals its nose with its tail, and strikes. Its odor is both nourishing when injected into food and poisonous. In combat, it turns away from assault until it gets into position, then strikes sideways to hit the throat of its enemy.
