| Description | An ebb is a current of water that does not behave in acoordance with nature, but in accordance to its own will. They are several miles long, from two to ten thousand. This makes them the largest living thing on Shem, I think. |
| Procreation | Ebbs reproduce when two ebbs collide, though the process is not understood. Two ebbs collide, three come out of it. |
| Magic | One in ten has soul magic; one in a million has heart magic. Mind magic is possible. Body magic is not. Void & faith are possible. |
| Special Powers | An ebb is a living current, & as such, it has the ability to control water. Some argue that the ebb is living movement & water is just the medium in which it lives, & others argue that the ebb is living water that can be stationary if it so chooses. Which is true is unknown. Ebbs can talk to people & carry things underwater, but only the most friendly will do this. |
| Weaknesses | Dryness will kill an ebb, though enough dryness to do so has never been produced naturally around an ebb. Ebbs are easily confused, as they do not understand things that are not extant in the path of their bodies. |
| Culture | They like to pick a route & stay in it for hundreds of years, getting to know that part of the ocean extremely well. Once they are bored, though, they move to a different area to play. |
