Born to elven nobles, Dyo lived a good life, albeit an embarrassed one. Noble they may be, but powerful they were not, under the dwarven occupation. Still, Dyo got by, criticizing the government in letters, drinking with his friends, jumping off cliffs and catching hippogriffs for fun. As long as he could fly, he was doing all right.

Which is why his parents decided to send him to the church. There, he learned flying was a sacred trust, and that life in the air was to be revered and... He learned, mostly, that the organized structure of an elven church were not the flitting experience of a soaring hippogriff. But he couldn't embarrass his parents further, so he stuck with it.

Shortly after his vestment, Dyovaniir asked the Wind Father for a sign of his purpose in life. Two days later, into his temple walked Roan Asher and Uly Bloom, looking for someone who knew how to fly...
