The Crimson Fleet is the fleet of the reever known as the Crimson Queen, eventually discovered to have been
Balkis Windsong. The fleet was known for its efficiency, skill, and meritocracy. Their primary targets are the most challenging.
Former members: Balkis Windsong
Crew(s):
Crimson Fleet crews are led by the Crimson Admiral--no one takes the title Queen since the original--and their Crimson Captains. In these crews, quartermaster and captain are combined into one role. If one cannot lead a ship outside of battle, one is not the captain, one is the first mate. If one cannot lead in battle but can lead the ship, they are the second mate. The roles usually taken by first and second mate are called lieutenants. Melee skill is valued by the Crimson Fleet, and all reevers of the fleet have +2 in PRO over the standard average for reevers. Esoterica is also highly valued, and every ship has at least two shipmages of some kind. Infernum, msahwat, and rending powers are not allowed. About 80% of the Crimson Fleet is crewed by animal folk.
The crew is a strict meritocracy. You earn your place. If you can't hack it, you're left in a friendly port. If you find your place, you find wealth and security--for a reever.

Headquarters :
The home of the Crimson Fleet is a secret cove on the coast of Obusingye called the Cat's Cradle. It is a series of dangerous, forested cliffs with caves and walkways and canopy-huts and rope bridges. It is a jungle village embedded into sea cliffs, and the only safe place to stop your ship is to tie it to a special structure hidden amidst the waves and jagged rocks. In the heart of it is a treasure vault where a portion of every take is brought. It is guarded by elite warriors of the fleet and kept to fund the fleet's needs. Other features include the Temple of the Seven Blades, dedicated to the WAR GOD, the Ark, the Mother of the Seas, the Flowerlady, the Bell-Armored God, the Dragon God, and the Fire God; the High Tower, which is the only visible structure and a watchtower against all comers; and the Hall of the Fallen, dedicated to those who died fighting for the fleet.
