| Description | Crevasses are bright white silhouettes, holes in the fabric of reality, in the shape of a demihuman with a narrow head and long, thin fingers on a thin-framed body. |
| Procreation | Only with each other. |
| Esoterica | Crevasses are beings of void and only use void. |
| Accumulation | Crevasses phase through solid stone, absorbing metals, which they convert to void and mashoaab. The mashoaab is destroyed shortly after it creates the accumulative capacity they need. Until they are about 150, they have limited accumulative capacity and must release excess void, which they do by going to the surface of the moon and raising their hands to the sky. After the age of 150, they have unlimited accumulative capacity and simply hoard void energy. |
| Special Powers | Crevasses sense void; they do not have mundane senses. They can alter void within their bodies to nullify things other than other energies. They have no need of air, air pressure, or warmth. |
| Weaknesses | Mana harms them. |
| Culture | Crevasses live in small communities focused on accumulating more and more void. They are led by a small group of very powerful elders, who control all of the resources in the community, including owning the mines from which their food derives. To become an elder, one must live to the age where their accumulative capacity is unlimited, then politically maneuver one of the seats on the council open, usually through some sort of exposure of past misdeeds. As such, there is much infighting amongst the political machines of the crevasse communities. Crevasse children are sent to work in the mines by the age of five, usually having been raised by their parents. If they come from a powerful family, they might be sent to school instead, but not all powerful families do this. By the age of 15, all crevasses attend a school for three years in order to indoctrinate them into society. After that, they are considered adults and may find other work outside of the mines; most choose to do so. Courtship among crevasses is usually based around economic and social power. Their society is very stratified. Gender is irrelevant, but social class is extremely important. Underclasses are expected to be subservient, upper classes expect subservience. |
