Contemplation was raised in a household where the worship of Mal'och was deep and intense, and she rebelled against it from a young age. At the age of 12, she ran away from home and stowed away on a ship, which was promptly raided by pirates. Upon discovery, she was given the choice of being put ashore with some rations or joining the crew, and she did not hesitate to choose the latter. Rising from the cook's assistant to a feared pirate in no time, she became a captain by the age of 19, a warden by age of 23, and a great warden upon the death of the last swashbuckler great warden. She is now feared throughout the Red Ocean.
