As a mutant in Maraddon, he was a baron in his day, & as his Service to Maraddon was through his magic. Not interested in Identifying, he chose to study other magics, which lead him to air magic. Long wishing he could fly, he took up an intense study.

He served faithfully for 40 years, eventually becoming the best air mage in the Empire, teaching briefly in Zudan, meeting both Simons, & earning the respect of his fellows. When the Civil War came, he remained loyal to the Emperor, & by the time the war ended, he was quite put out with the way things went. A conservative, he would have been happy if Rayner took the throne. As it is, the new order is a hassle, but as he was a mutant before, Service is not new to him.

His love of flight, however, pulled him to the airship like a moth to flame, & now he finds himself having more fun than he ever has before.
