| Description | At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, chrome dragons grow to be shimmering, beautiful, elongated fish with the heads of a serpent and huge glittery fins. |
| Procreation | Dragons mate with each other only. Without intense supernatural interference, half-dragons are an impossibility. Dragons lay one to three eggs at a time. Upon hatching, a dragon immediately begins absorbing background energies. All dragon eggs are filled with pure, liquid draconic energy, which sustains the baby dragon upon hatching. |
| Esoterica | Chrome dragons absorb inspiration resonance, dumaqu, and radiance. Heavenly light and Foundation are common, hegnh less so. Qi and nommic energy are not unheard of. Divine energies are common. Currents, sol angelic, and winds aether are all common. Pattern aether and fundamental aether less so, but still frequent. White tiger aether is not unheard of. Yahas, poioumenon, possibility, and light are all very common. Unholy energies, especially shadow, are impossible. |
| Special Powers | Dragons gain new powers as they accumulate more energies. At each stage of growth, they gain a new ability, usually culminating with the twelfth ability when they accumulate . The usual progression of powers is as follows:
All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects. Other common powers include create minor artwork, inspiring touch, instill vision/improve vision, and lightspeed. |
| Alternate Forms | Chrome dragons take the form of a peacock or a muse sometimes. |
| Weaknesses | Shadow is especially effective against them. |
| Subspecies | Light dragons are made entirely of light and inspiration, and they exist in the skies above Shem, showering down holy inspiration. They have accumulated more inspiration (and light) than normal. |
| Culture | Chrome dragons live in the seas around tropical islands. They lay their eggs in coral reefs, and the parents raise the young and teach them. At maturity, chrome dragons take flight above the water for the first time. About half of them choose to go see the world for a while, and these are called kren-sivian. They find followers and treasure to bring back for the hoard, and spread inspiration around the world. At home, chrome dragon communities ally with local groups to build their hoards, building strong relationships that are constantly evolving. When they grow old, they become respected elders and die with the tribe. |
