All characters are children attending a special boarding school. Some have been sent by their families. Some have been picked up off the streets. Some have worked to get there. Some have been chosen seemingly (to them) at random from other schools. It is called the Academy of the Chrysanthemum. Every child who attends, unbeknownst to most, is special in some way.
