Born during Desermas, the most sacred day of the year in Vesturia, Chestolyubie was a child subject to reverence from her birth. Daughter of the Emperor and a rune-knight, she was born with incredible strength, speed, and power. She quickly rose in the ranks to be her father's favorite, despite refusing all runes. She apparently did not need them, either. She killed her runed siblings ruthlessly when her father died, ensuring her place on the throne.

As Empress, she still took no runes. She brought the church back in and reinstated their power--for Ages, their influence had been curbed in favor of secular concerns. She declared that Vesturia would officially rebuke any advances from Tara'hin or Dhun, and that all trade would be with Srisia, Caerdwonnum, or similar nations. She weeded out the sycophants and parasites and built an aristocracy of people truly useful to her. And she then, one day, she stepped out and commanded that the Night come.

At first, her advisers and allies thought her gone mad, but moments later, Night came, and it never left the Nightclad City again.
