| Description | Chalk dwarfs stand about 4' to 5' tall, stout and broad-shouldered. They have blond(e) or brown hair, skin color ranging from reddish brown to pale pink, and eyes of deepest black. Beards and braids are commonly worn. |

| Esoterica | Dwarves are aetherial beings, born from the earthpower imbuing the stones they are crafted from. Chalk dwarves also are beings of qi and yahas. They are capable of using any other supernatural energies, but msawhat is rare and often corrupts and destroys them. Divine energies, other forms of aether (especially white tiger), ethereal energy, Foundation, dumaqu, hegnh, radiance, poioumenon, Damaskian power, and mashoaab are all very common. |
| Special Powers | Chalk dwarves' aetherial power allow them to shape the countryside, work stone, and build fortifications. Qi and yahas combine to let them recognize distant relatives instantly, soothe the sick, and protect loved ones with charms. All dwarves are known for their steady feet, their inborn toughness, and their shrewdness. |
| Weaknesses | Msawhat can corrupt and destroy them. Chalk dwarves are also susceptible to entropy or cacophonic arnum. |
| Culture | Chalk dwarves love their families above all, and their clans are their extended families. They protect them above all else. They do everything for family first, and they believe in expanding that family. They marry into new families, adopt, and otherwise expand them. The chalk dwarven clans have their own elders, and the elders decide who is thane. The thane runs the nation with the help of the elders and other members of their own family. Their are no craft guilds, but each family protects their own. No matter what craft a dwarf takes up, they are supported and trained by their family. There are schools run by clans. All community needs are tended by the clans. |
| Crafts | The main crafts practiced by chalk dwarves are cobbling, which allows them to make connections to people and gather yahas, and building whole villages, which brings their families together and raises the qi. Earthpower comes from the materials they use. |
