| Description | Breccian dwarves are short, stout, and broad-shouldered dwarves standing about 3' to 4.5' tall. They have red hair and pale skin, and eyes black as coal. Beards and braids are commonly worn. |
| Procreation | With each other. Half-dwarves are not possibly without esoteric intervention. |
| Esoterica | Dwarves are aetherial beings, born from the earthpower imbuing the stones they are crafted from. Breccian dwarves are also beings of hatred resonance. They are capable of using any other supernatural energies, but msawhat is rare and often corrupts and destroys them. Divine energies, other forms of aether (especially white tiger), ethereal energy, Foundation, dumaqu, arnum, poioumenon, Damaskian power, and mashoaab are all very common. |
| Special Powers | Breccian dwarves' aetherial power allows them to work stone and metal, survive in the arid rocky regions, and have stoneskin if they are strong. Their resonant powers allow them to know their enemies, to hunt and track, and to gain strength from revenge. If they have too much resonance, they are overwhelmed with it and go on killing sprees. All dwarves are known for their steady feet, their inborn toughness, and their shrewdness. |
| Weaknesses | Msawhat can corrupt and destroy them. Love resonance can also harm them. |
| Culture | Breccian dwarven society is vicious, brutal, and hateful. No two families trust each other, no two communities like each other. There are no alliances, no support structures, no friendships. Only grudges and violence. They live in small families that only keep together for protection. The young are raised to distrust strangers and rely on their parents, who view them as servants and burdens. The thane of the breccian dwarves is the meanest, most powerful, most violent dwarf in the nation. The thane's family keeps slaves and controls other families, and an intricate system of vendettas keeps them at war with other dwarven families. Power changes hands often. The crafts are used to gain and sustain power more than for their own sake. |
| Crafts | Tanning is a common craft among breccian dwarves. They gain hatred resonance from the methods they use to butcher the animals. The pinnacle of the tanners' goals is to tan the hides of their enemies. Trap-making is also a common craft, from which they gain aetherial energy when appropriate and hatred resonance from the use of their traps. They enjoy trapping their enemies and tormenting them, and they are known for their cruel designs. |
