Their first pari of legs are claws that are massive as well, used for digging and fighting, and their other 4 legs are used as legs. They stand about 8' tall. |

| Magic | One in five million have heart or soul magic. Mind and body magic are possible. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Borers have caustic chemicals on their exoskeletons that ward off predators. They have decent camouflage with their shells, can use mimicry with their voices, and are incredibly strong and tough. They moult as they grow. |
| Weaknesses | Hunt magic or faith. |
| Culture | Borers are amongst the last of the beetlefolk, the other surviving race being the coccineals. Once upon a time, there were 100 tribes of beetlefolk, ranging from the pestilential scarab people to the mighty stag beetlemen, but over the Age of Growth, they began to die out, one by one. Either by warring with each other or other races, or through disease and weakness, they simply could not maintain on Shem. Thus, the last of them are the borers, who lived underground, and the coccineals, who were the embodiment of vigor. The other tribes had many magical powers, but the borers were simple anthropomorphizations of mundane earth-burrower beetles. Borers live in huge, vast cavern cities that they have dug under the ground, keeping their eggs, larvae, and pupae in safe caverns while digging new tunnels for themselves. Their name for themselves is approximated brk!uurr. |
