Bolt is a junk merchant who wanders the world, fixing old electronics and other machines for pay and experience. He's a bit fried in the head. He gives lip service to the Storm God, the Crowned God, and the Maker, but he gets them confused a lot. He was educated in the finest schools in Zrohm until he shut down their power grids and got thrown out--traditional circuit gnomish education.

He makes enough money to get by, usually, with high times and low punctuating his life. He has a couple of unintentionally estranged siblings, but his parents died ages ago. Cancer got his papa, and his mother fell off the side of the continent. She might be alive somewhere in the swirling storms.

Technically, he's a member of the Tinker's Guild, but it's been a few years since he's been in a land where they had any sway. Because of his more or less electo-scarred brain, he comes off to most people as a bit of a stoner, despite never really having done drugs. He gets along with most people, in short doses, but after a while, he tends to get on people's nerves--until they need something fixed. His enemies are mostly people whose electronics he improved a little 'too'' much.

He was raised amongst a colony of circuit gnomes working on The Great Grid Project, an engine powered by turbines set on the edge of the continent, where the rivers spill over. His parents were heavily dedicated to the project, looking at grand schemes and circuits, and not focusing on the tiny details he got obsessed with. He was a bit of an outcast for it, but in gnomish society, everyone ends up specialized and ostracized. It's accepted. This contradictory upbringing left him fairly typically gnomish.

He has a mule named Ebenezer who carries all of his gadgets and junk that he sells and mends for others. He's had a few girlfriends over the years, but they've all paled in comparison to a fancy circuit, so it's never worked out. He's physically scarred and jittery due to irregular electrical shocks, and his brain is completely short-circuited.

He believes that life is in the details, and that a finely tuned electrical system is the most important thing in the world. Once you have the circuitry down, you know how it all works. The worst thing he ever did was intentionally electrocute five bandits who tried to steal Ebenezer from him, and the best thing he's ever done was find a way to jumpstart a person's heart with electrical pulses. He's never found volunteers for that latter one, though, so it only works in theory.

He's afraid of missing an important detail and failing something major. He hopes simply to get by, sell his wares, and build his machines. He wants nothing more from life. He finds beauty in electrical systems. He'd never hurt Ebenezer, but he doesn't think in absolute terms, so the idea of a line he wouldn't cross hasn't come up.

He's logical when it comes to his work, but otherwise, he's a scatter-brained mess. He has a low understanding of Shem's cosmology, and world politics do not interest him. He's spent about 20 years wandering the world, though, so he's got a pretty good idea of how things work out there.

He respects Ebenezer, finds the details of the world to be fascinating, and gets easily distracted by machines.

My OOC goals for this character are to play a full tilt off the wall gnome and have fun.
