Bol lived in the shadow of Anatevya his whole life. He was always second to his unit-mate, and he hated the man for it. Both being enders, they both knew it. Neither addressed it--it simply didn't matter. Bol was second best and always would be, and he did not like it. So when the day came that Anatevya rose high enough in the Empress's esteem to be offered the role of Marshall, Bol was planning on leaving Vesturia forever. Instead, Anatevya rejected the offer and left. Bol was summoned and offered the role, which he took. In accordance with tradition, Bol was also made a general of the Ender Corpsn and Servitor of Darkness, given ender's armor and sword, and granted ten new runes, bringing his number up to 23. And yet, still, he fears everyone knows that he is still in Anatevya's shadow.
