| Description | Mildly rotted versions of what they were in life, with glowing red eyes. |
| Corruption | Bokkenrijders are formed when desperate bandits turn to evil powers to escape justice, usually demons, abominations, greater undead, or esotericists. |
| Esoterica | Bokkenrijders are beings of msawhat and parasitic energy. They retain only some of the powers they had in life, corrupted and weakened (6-10). In undeath, they sometimes learn new arts, especially those of quaestus, infernum, desperation, blood energy, hunger, doom, misfortune, thorn energy, arnum, rending, feirua, Damaskian powers, some forms of aether (esp. bestial), cacophony, uafas, mystery, and flux. |
| Special Powers | Bokkenrijders cause unease in those who are near them. They ride undead goats (shambler or grey beast) through the sky. Their touch is painful. They only move at night. They can sense coin and currency and seek it out. Some ride ghost ships. |
| Necromancy | A user of msawhat or parasitic energy must make a deal with a bandit or raider about to be executed for their crimes. This deal (14) is sealed with a pact either with the esotericist or a demon, abomination, or greater undead in a special contract signed in blood. Then, they must go through with the execution, after which they will rise on the next night. The contract can be used to control, summon, or capture and draw power from them. Every year on the anniversary of their contract they must visit the contract-holder in a nearby forest. |
| Sending | Their contract can be bought and destroyed by its owner to send them. Invocation of Divine energies will send them as well. |
| Weaknesses | Daylight weakens them. Qi, the gates, and other heavenly energies can send them. |
| Behavior | Bokkenrijders ride through the night sky on their undead goats in gangs, raiding peaceful communities and stealing everything they can find. On the anniversary of their contract, they must go into the woods to meet with their contract-holder to receive any new instructions, if any. |
| Dominion Culture | Bokkenrijders serve as bashers and enforcers for the Campionese Dominion, raiding suddenly in areas they wish to terrorize. They are lower-ranking warrior class. |
| Other Dominions | Other Dominions often use bokkenrijders similarly, having them as minor warriors. In each Dominion, the nature of their contracts can change slightly. |
| Mortal Interactions | Bokkenrijders are notorious in the regions where they are known, seen as monstrous bandits, more terrible than mortal bandits. Actual bandits view them either as legends to aspire to or warnings of a bad way to go. |
| Afterlife | There is rarely redemption for bokkenrijders, as they usually engaged willingly in their contracts. Most spend Ages in the in-between before moving on to the Hells. |
