| Description | Boarmen appear to be anthropomorphic wild boars. They have compact bodies, large heads, short legs, and their fur is a mixture of stiff bristles and finer hairs. They can be dark grey, black, brown, or even whitish. Their fur is denser in winter. They are very heavy, and the males have tusks which grow continuously (hence their habits of picking them with rocks). Children have ochre, rich brown, or cream colored stripes which they grow out of. Some of the men have manes and others have ridges called razorbacks. One in ten thousand will have a glowing golden mane. |

| Special Powers | Boarmen use their tusks as both weapons and tools. They are very sharp. Boarwomen have very sharp teeth, but no tusks. Boarmen, when angered or startled, will go berzerk and will be unable to be stopped with any sort of ease. They are strong, powerful warriors. When a boarman kills his closest rival, he becomes stronger. They are afraid of very little, though their reputations cause fear in others. They are very intelligent. They will persevere in the face of the worst odds. They have passable nightvision. Gold maned boarmen have the good luck edge and diamond teeth. |

| Culture | Boarmen live in villages they refer to as sounders. The general make up of the village changes often, as members bicker and fight and lose interest in the community. It is a tradition in a boarman sounder for the most powerful men to kill their firstborn sons if they remain too long, as the eldest son is the surest rival for power. Though boarmen are vicious, they are also known to be hospitable to strangers, bluntly honest, and extremely lustful, especially in winter. The human group known as the river people have an Ages old hatred of boarmen. |
