Description At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, blue dragons grow to be slender blue serpents with stubby legs and great networks of seven glimmering insectoid wings.
Procreation Dragons mate with each other only. Without intense supernatural interference, half-dragons are an impossibility. Dragons lay one to three eggs at a time. Upon hatching, a dragon immediately begins absorbing background energies. All dragon eggs are filled with pure, liquid draconic energy, which sustains the baby dragon upon hatching.
Esoterica Blue dragons absorb vast quantities of yahas. Poioumenon, kor, and symbolism are common, as is blood, psionics, and soul energy. Ethereal energy is very common. Fate, winds aether, sol angelic aether, and currents aether are also common. Nommic energy, qi, and dumaqu are not unknown. Cacophonous sound is impossible, and divine energies are common.
Special Powers

Dragons gain new powers as they accumulate more energies. At each stage of growth, they gain a new ability, usually culminating with the twelfth ability when they accumulate . The usual progression of powers is as follows:

  • Level 1: Chain lightning breath weapon
  • Level 2: Immunity to confusion
  • Level 3: Immunity to loneliness
  • Level 4: Immunity to fear
  • Level 5: Scale allows bearer to use soulbonding
  • Level 6: Zone of intense gravity
  • Level 7: Enter Collective Subconscious, once per year
  • Level 8: Create ambient music
  • Level 9: Sense bonds
  • Level 10: Bind targets
  • Level 11: Summon ashurites
  • Level 12: Commune with network

All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects.

Other common powers include instill link/bond/chain, bridge targets, transfer attribute, and control network.

Alternate Forms Blue dragons sometimes take the form of a gysylltiad.
Weaknesses Cacophonous energies will harm them.
Subspecies Network dragons have accumulated so much yahas they become one with their networks, losing their physical forms. They have the power to possess those in their networks temporarily and act through them.
Culture Blue dragons lay their eggs in deep desert alcoves, where the whole tribe helps to raise them. They live nomadic lives, traveling from alcove to oasis to alcove. They form alliances with many different groups to build their hoards and find servants, and they always remain connected with those they come in contact with, if they can.
