| Description | Beryl dwarves have bark brown hair, rough brown skin, and bright green eyes. They are stout and broad-shouldered and stand about 3.5' to 4.5' tall. Beards and braids are commonly worn. |
| Procreation | With each other. Half-dwarves are not possibly without esoteric intervention. |
| Esoterica | Dwarves are aetherial beings, born from the earthpower imbuing the stones they are crafted from. Beryl dwarves are also beings of greenlight aether. They are capable of using any other supernatural energies, but msawhat is rare and often corrupts and destroys them. Divine energies, other forms of aether (especially viridian and currents), ethereal energy, Foundation, dumaqu, arnum, poioumenon, Damaskian power, and mashoaab are all very common. |
| Special Powers | Beryl dwarves' aetherial power allows them to sense fertile soil, move large stones, and, in greater circumstances, become one with the earth. Greenlight aether is another common power they gain, and from it, they can shape plants and wood, turn their skin to flexible but strong wood, and gain strength from sun and soil. If they become too plant-like, they turn into plants and fade away. All dwarves are known for their steady feet, their inborn toughness, and their shrewdness. |
| Weaknesses | Msawhat can corrupt and destroy them. |
| Culture | Beryl dwarves live in small communities in the deep forest. They have elders who lead each village, and those elders select the community members who represent the village in the forest-councils. The thane is elected by all the dwarves in the communities throughout the nation, and the thane selects leaders from the crafts to be part of the thane's council. The beryl dwarves are protectors of the forest and all within it. They tend forest fires, prune bad trees, and keep the forest orderly and natural. The keepers of the wood are important in the communities and often go on to be elders. Carpenters, woodsmen, and gardeners are the other major crafts. Their communities are held deep in the woods and home to wooden wonders, houses and constructs of wood that are made of and shaped with trees and plants, gardens of structural wonder, and beautiful displays of light crafted by the canopy above. |
| Crafts | Carpentry is the most popular craft, and the beryl dwarven carpenters work with the forest to find the best wood. They gain aether from these pursuits and use it to craft amazing works, from buildings to toys to statues. Gardening is done by those more attuned to greenlight aether, and they command and shape the forest around them, making works of art from what they grow. Woodsmen are the ones who tend and care for the forest, gaining greenlight aether and working with the other dwellers of the wood. |
