Notable laws: Though the dolphin race is considered the ruling class, there is no other distinction between them and other citizens, save the sharkmen, who are under strict legal restrictions in accordance with their violent natures. There are tight rules about keeping the seas clean and about interactions with the surface, though less so than with other undersea nations. There are also strict trade rules and certain laws governing salvage rights.
Military: There are four parts to the Belthine military--the "infantry," the metaphysick corps, the amphibian corps, and the special forces.
Culture: A semi-segregated society, the dolphins tend to live in pod cities and the reefmen in coral villages. The rest of the peoples of Belthine have scattered communities here and there, but for the most part, these two dominate. Dolphin culture is heavily tradition-bound, while reefman culture is similar to agrarian human culture mixed with a sort of odd beach bum culture.
