He was briefly driven mad by the powers of Kierik the Indestructible, & because of this, sought to find a way to cleanse himself. Aldo told him to seek out a worse filth & rid the world of it. He has spent his time wandering the Empire ever since. He eventually decided the worst of all possible things in the Empire was poverty. He came, eventually, to Jael', where he was caught trying to feed some hungry men out of the army's stores. He was slated for hanging, but was spared by Paul's Staff. When Aldo created the giant orange tree, Batsulo climbed to the top, where he found the magical white & silver oranges & brought them down. Since then, he has stayed & acted as keeper of the tree.

Little does he know that the oranges are keepin him youn & hale. Try as he might, he will never leave the tree, fated to always stay & serve it.
