All basghurs have short tails. They have horizontal slit pupils. One in ten thousand are born with wings and golden fleece. |

| Magic | One in five million have soul magic. One in a million have heart magic. Mind and body magic are possible. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Basghurs have very good hearing and smelling. They can see behind themselves without turning their heads, but they have poor depth perception. They have glands below their eyes and between their toes that secrete pheromones that make them seem harmless. They have excellent memories and are very intelligent. Their horns are very strong. They hate the dark. Basghurs are capable of lulling people to sleep by moving in confusing patterns within the flock. They are strong, capable warriors. Self-sacrifice can be empowering to them. The rare golden winged basghurs are natural leaders. |
| Weaknesses | Baghurs tend to follow a leader instinctively. They have very hard childbirths. Despair magic and faith can harm them. |
| Culture | Basghurs live in large, close-knit communities. They tend to live in hill-lands so that they can find high ground during danger. They value their leaders highly, but any given basghur will take the lead during times of trouble. Basghurs have mild hierarchies that shift via displays during the quiet seasons, though horn size plays a role in the hierarchy. Their temperaments tend to be forgiving, positive, righteous, sincere, sympathetic, shy, artistic, compassionate, generous, moody, indecisive, pessimistic, and complaining. They are task oriented. Basghur mothers often make their children wear bells so that they can hear them while they play. Basghurs love food. They will bicker with each other to get to the table first, and they will go to war over food sources. They shear themselves in the warmer months. |
