| Special Powers | Banniks shift between their normal form and their bagienik form depending on where they are dwelling or what they need to do. As a bannik, they serve others and are known to give predictions of the future, and for keeping a clean and tidy bathhouse. In their bagienik form, they are known for the oily fluid that flows from their nostrils. It burns with heat, but it can cure rheums, deep wounds, indigestion, heart illness, and infertility. A bagienik's presence in a lake is shown by the bubbling of the lake. |
| Weaknesses | Being lost drives them mad. Symbols of other faiths frighten them. |
| Culture | Banniks, or their alternate forms the bagieniks, are bathhouse attendants in Northern Ranic countries and dwellers in deep lakes. As banniks, they dwell in bathhouses and serve others. In this region, bathhouses are more like saunas and hospitals, where birthing, relaxation, rehabilitation, and divination occurs. The banniks are central to all of these processes, creating a communal center out of the bathhouse. As bagieniks, after an Age of service, they go to the lakes and retire, coming up only to heal those who make a pilgrimage from their home bathhouse to the lake for aide. |
