Ban Mamaki appears to be a small black bird. Their powers are to perform miracles, which they perform as they appear to those in need. They appear anywhere where someone is desperate and rundown, broken and defeated, up against the impossible. One who is mortally wounded and facing a foe ten times their strength. One who is lost, starving, dying of thirst, a thousand miles from water or food or safety. One who must run ten miles in less than an hour. They will appear, perhaps.

They represent miracles. Hope. The impossible.

Their names around the world vary by time and circumstance. Tayir 'Aswad in Mahad. Kālō Pākhi in subcontinental Dabusen. Itom Nga Langgam in northeastern Dabusen. Kos between Jesenya and Ranu. Svartfugl in the far north. Mangumangu in the southern Island Bridge. And many more around the world.

A feather from Ban Mamaki will give one hope even in the bleakest moments. Their cry makes one's heart rise, and their gaze causes abusers fear.

Ban Mamaki fought in the last War of the Gods and helped seal the Eldritch, but like the other mafi girma, they were wounded and sealed themselves, in an unknown time and place. But their power remains and miracles still happen.
