An astrophalan's field of scientific interst will undoubtedly be somehow space related. Astrophysics is the most common, & astronomy next, but anything related to the cosmos is possible. Their immunity to experimentation-related damage is the same as a cephalans, but they can also survive in space (without air, pressure, heat, or very much food). They also give off a very small amount of radiation.

Astrophlans are obsessed with understanding the stars, but they do not wish to explore it much. They do, if necessary, but mostly, they stay in their observatories. They are scholars & sages, scientists of the highest calibur. Common scientific interests include astrophysics, astronomy, nuclear physics, & interstellar biology.
