Dionysus: So eventually, despite his bets efforts, Arsul falls asleep.
- Arsul submits to sleep, unwillingly
Dionysus: Your dreams are strange that night, because unlike any dream you've had in ages, this one involves /images/.
Arsul: wierd
Arsul: do I understand what they are?
Arsul: or is it just sensory overload?
Dionysus: You see them as sounds.
Arsul: ok
Arsul: so I understand what's going on
Dionysus: You are in a vast hall with a man behind a podium. He is clearly a judge, with three faces: one gentle, one stern, one stoic. To you it's like watching the echoes in an office building or a courtroom.
Dionysus: For some reason, your attention keeps coming to a large door, standing ajar.
Arsul: bizzare. can I get closer?
Dionysus: You don't want to move, because you can't see & there might be something in the way, your instincts tell you, despite the contradictions.
Arsul: ok. I stand still but listen at the door
Dionysus: The three-faced judge looks down & says, "Where is the traitor?"
Dionysus: And a man comes into the room from an unseen entrance, wrapped in chains. He is weeping, saying, "My children have left me..."
Dionysus: The gentle face frowns, but the stern face looks even harsher.
Arsul: (what does the man sound like?)
Dionysus: He sounds like everything that was once right in the world that isn't now.
Arsul: wow
Dionysus: The judge sounds like a tight rope walker.
Arsul: ok
Dionysus: The judge says, "That is no excuse, but your status & history grant you the right to trial by your peers. They shall vote on your fate, all those without vested interest in the outcome. Stand."
Dionysus: And the chanined man rises from his knees.
Arsul: (wait, OOC, what does that mean? I'm confused)
Dionysus: What does what mean?
Arsul: (the vested interest, standing thing)
Arsul: (those who don't care, stand?)
Dionysus: No, he told the chained man to stand. It was a separate sentence. That's what the period right before it indicates, as per the rules of grammar.
Arsul: oh... right, ignore me
Dionysus: In the gallery behind you, dozens of strange lights appear, some blue, some green, some red.
Arsul: what are they?
Dionysus: Colored lights.
Arsul: ok
Dionysus: They sound like votes.
Dionysus: You can't understand clearly.
Arsul: bad?
Arsul: negative votes?
Dionysus: You can't understand clearly.
Arsul: he turns back to see how the judge is taking the voting
Dionysus: And the man in chain cries. The three-faced judge says, "Your fate is sealed. The instruments of your fate will come from those standing in the low galleries..." And you could swear he's referring to you. And then you wake up.
Arsul: "Wait!"
