Arsul_T "So obviously, I wanted to meet her. There's some others I'd like to meet but I'm not sure on all their locations at the moment."

Dionysus "Well, if we can help find them, we will."

• Arsul_T nods. "All the rest are sons. Kren'atan and Myrmexia. And two with some gypsies."

Arsul_T "I have no idea how I'll find them."

• Dionysus says, "With the Roma?"

Arsul_T "The what?"

Dionysus "It's the proper name for what you call 'gypsies.'"

Dionysus "Do you know which tribe they are with?"

Arsul_T "Oh. Well yes I guess so then."

• Arsul_T frowns "I'm not sure. They used to live in Northern Maraddon till their mother died and the-- Roma took them in."

Arsul_T "But that's all I know of it."

• Dionysus nods, "Many Roma live here because the laws are friendlier. I've a few friends who are Roma. Would you like me to send word to them asking for help?"

Arsul_T "It would mean a lot to me. They're twin boys."

• Dionysus nods, "I'll send word when we reach Ienova."

Arsul_T "Thank you."

Dionysus Do anything else during the trip?

Dionysus You see the band arriving in Ienova mere hours after you do, by train.

Dionysus You arrive in Ienova early on the morning of the 22nd.

Dionysus The sight of the city is lost on you, but Dionysus mentions that the golden temple of the sun still dominates the cityscape.

Arsul_T I'll tell Dionysus that the band is following us and we might find them later

Arsul_T "It'll be closed too though, I'm sure."

Dionysus "I believe Archduchess Annavera uses it as administrative offices, actually."

Dionysus Lucilla gets her baggage & heads straight into the city.

Arsul_T "Oh. The church didn't mind?"

• Arsul_T wishes her well when she leaves

Dionysus "Her uncle, the former Archduke, Cadoy, was a paladin of the sun faith. He used it, & the tradition has continued."

Dionysus Lucilla says, "Thanks."

Arsul_T "Oh. Makes sense."

Arsul_T "Now, we have to find her. All I know is she has a family and they're all nightengales."

• Dionysus says, "I know it. Carlos Renjere owns it, right?"

Arsul_T "Yes, that's right. An absolute tightwad but a very good inn."

Arsul_T He'll inquire with the inkeep about anyone who might know a family of nightengales in town.

Dionysus Carlos's son, Ramon, is keeping inn. He says, "There's a little neighborhood on the south end where a lot of nightingale families live."

Dionysus "Dunno any specific ones, but that's where most of them end up."

Arsul_T "Thanks, I appreciate it."

Arsul_T we go to check it out

Dionysus No rush. "Absolutely. Will you be playing tonight?"

Arsul_T "Um yes! We'd love to. Got almost a full band: strings, winds, guitar and trumpet. We'll be back this evening."

• Dionysus nods, then follows Arsul out.

Arsul_T "We better find the others at some point and let em know." he tells Dionysus

Dionysus You hear as you leave, Ramon saying, "Did he have a bear following him...?"

• Dionysus says, "Let's go to the nightingale neighborhood, then look for them."

Arsul_T "Sounds good." he agrees

Arsul_T "I'm not sure how I'll find her. Hopefully she has my name."

Dionysus The nightingale neighborhood is very easily recognized--it sounds prettier. You hear singing from every window. You fail to see how the buildings are right up next to each other & the windows all have lines of laundry strung between them over the street, or how they all stare at Hunny.

• Arsul_T smiles at the singing
• Dionysus says, "So, we're here. What now?

Arsul_T "One of the best sounds ever, a nightengale voice." he says to Dionysus

• Dionysus sighs, "Oh yes."

Arsul_T "Well, I guess we ask if there's a family known as Toutant in the neighborhood."

• Arsul_T does just that to the next person he can hear passing him

Dionysus A beautiful voice responds, "I am afraid I do not know anyone here by that name."

• Arsul_T frowns. "I'm trying to find my daughter. I'm not sure she even goes by that name. She has a family of her own now."

Dionysus She sounds nervous, which is probably Hunny's fault, "What does she look like?"

Arsul_T "Thank you for your help. We'll keep asking till we find someone who knows her." "Oh, uh well um she's a nightengale and so are all her daughters. I've never seen her myself." he gestures to his covered eyes

• Arsul_T has a hand on Hunny's head, scratching her ears

Dionysus She sighs, "You could ask Marietta. She knows everyone here, & if someone's estranged father shows up, she'd love to help them reunite." She says this with a touch of scorn.

• Arsul_T frowns at the last part. "I thank you miss. Where could I find this Marietta?"

Dionysus She tells you which house.

• Arsul_T thanks her again and moves on with Dionysus and Hunny

Dionysus You knock at Marietta's?

Arsul_T yes sir

Dionysus "Yes? Oh my!" Pleasant voice, then surprise.

Arsul_T "Hello, sorry to bother you. I'm looking for my daughter and someone sais you might be able to help me."

Arsul_T "I've never met her you see. I just know that she's a nightengale in Ienova and has a family here."

Dionysus A pause, then, "Umm. You... have a nightingale daughter with her own family. You... Right. Can you tell me anything else about her?"

Arsul_T "Well, my name's Arsul Toutant. I don't know if her mother gave her that name, but that's what I have." he frowns, uncertain

Dionysus "That name? Oh, last name. Most of us don't have last names. None that I know have yours."

Dionysus She sounds like something, possibly a bear, is keeping most of her attention.

Arsul_T "Oh. Well, maybe I can try another way then. Thank you for your help."

Dionysus "Wait."

Dionysus "I... maybe I can help. There's only a few I know of who don't know their fathers."

Arsul_T "Well--" he sounds uncomfortable. "I don't remember her mother particularly well. So I'm not sure a few women would help. I need to be sure it's her, you see. I suppose, unless her mother was still in Ienova."

Dionysus "Well, we could go talk to these few & ask them..."

• Arsul_T frowns but nods. "I do appreciate the help ma'am."

Dionysus She sounds eager. "My pleasure."

• Arsul_T nods and readies to follow her after introducing Dionysus and Hunny

Dionysus She stares a moment at Hunny, greets Dionysus politely, then leads you down a few houses. The first house, no one is home, but the second, a child answers, "Hello?" a darling little voice says.

• Arsul_T smiles at the child's voice

Dionysus Marietta asks for her mother, & the girl runs off. A moment later, an older sounding nightingale answers, "Yes? What is it?"

Dionysus Marietta says, "This gentleman has a question for you, Nylissa."

• Arsul_T 's smile drops as nerves come in. "I'm sorry to bother you miss. My name's Arsul Toutant and I'm a musician. I'm looking for my daughter and Marietta here is trying to help me."

Arsul_T he pauses, uncertain, waiting for a response for a moment

Dionysus A pause, then, "Marietta, please leave." "But--." "Leave!" And she does. The woman says nothing, then, "Mother spoke of you once."

Arsul_T "Oh." he is very confused. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know about you till recently. I wanted to meet you."

• Arsul_T frowns, uncertain

Dionysus "She said you were a master musician, but she didn't want you to be tied down by her. That was ten years ago."

• Dionysus quietly slips back into the street.

Arsul_T "Your mother, is she all right? Are you?"

Dionysus "She was murdered."

Dionysus "My daughters... Have been attacked. When we lived in Demopolis. We came here where the city guard is much better, but..."

• Arsul_T mouth opens, shocked. "I'm so sorry."

Dionysus "What do you want?"

Arsul_T "I wanted to know if you were well. I wanted to warn you of what we are."

Dionysus "What we are?"

Arsul_T "Yes. I don't understand it completely. But the Toutant's bring change on Shem. I am a prophet. My brother sees the past. My other daughter, Lucilla, can erase memory."

Arsul_T "Because of these abilities we and our children have been hunted by the Stillborn Cult and others."

Arsul_T "I did not know this until recently."

Dionysus She shudders.

• Arsul_T sounds pained

Dionysus "I hear voices from the past."

Arsul_T "You do?" I wasn't sure if it would transfer through your line.

Arsul_T ummm that should be in quotes

Dionysus "My daughters all have clairvoyance."

Arsul_T "Clairvoyance?"

Dionysus "They touch things, & know other things. Touching my old shirt tells them where I am now, for instance."

• Arsul_T nods. "It is a powerful ability I imagine."

Dionysus A pause, then, "It has its uses, I suppose."

Arsul_T "I-- I don't know what you would think of it. But, in Maraddon I have contacts that could keep you and your daughters safe. You could even Serve if you wished. I do. I understand if you don't want to move again, but I would like to put the offer there for you."

Dionysus A pause, then, "Where were you three days ago? You are too late to save us." She sounds bitter, angry.

• Arsul_T sits back, slightly shocked at the tone. "What happened?"

Dionysus "The..." She whispers, "Ravager got my Donella."

• Arsul_T "No. What-- Where is she?"

Arsul_T "Is she-- still alive?" he sounds almost fevered in his questioning

Dionysus A pause, then, "Inside. Do not go near her. Men... are not welcome with her right now."

Arsul_T "No, of course not." his voice is strained. "I-- Lucilla came to hunt him. I did not come soon enough."

Dionysus "Lucilla?"

Arsul_T "My other daughter. She was a slave in Tamarenthek. Sold to a pleasure house, her own children killed. When we got her back to Maraddon she took up warrior training. She is hunting the Ravager. She says women must catch him because of what he does."

Arsul_T "She is a brave woman who has been through much, as have you and your own family."

Dionysus "You're very good at not being there for us, aren't you?"

Arsul_T "I didn't know I had children."

Arsul_T "But yes, you're right. I wasn't there."

Dionysus A pause, then a very choked, emotional, "I think we should stop talking right now."

Dionysus And the door closes.

• Arsul_T turns slowly and walks back out onto the street
• Dionysus says, "Where to now, old friend?"

Arsul_T "I need to kill this rapist."

Dionysus You feel him stop, "The Ravager? All right. How?"

Arsul_T "I'm not sure where to start exactly. But I think divination might be best. So let's find somewhere I can sit."

Dionysus "There's a small park overthere."

Dionysus He leads you to a bench.

Arsul_T "Thank you."

Arsul_T When and where can I stop him?

Dionysus You see yourself with Hunny in a dark alley. The night sky is visible: 'Zue is full, 'Sana is missing (new), & 'Rys is a crescent. A hulking man stumbles down the alley with his cloth & runs into you...

Dionysus The alley is in a dingy, poor area near here.

• Arsul_T wakes and asks Dionysus if he knows what night this will be?

Dionysus "Sounds like tomorrow or the next night."

Arsul_T "Ok. Then I'll be ready."

Arsul_T "I guess we should find the others. Give me a minute to see if I can locate them."

Arsul_T Where is the band?

Dionysus Jack is in the Pavillion of Lost Gods, outside the city. Avery is there as well. Aurelia is somewhere in the city. Arlie is in the Pavillion area. Magnum is back in Maraddon City.

Arsul_T "They're outside the city. Visiting the Lost God's followers."
