Arsul "It's a big expense for just a trip across the Empire. However I'll need something bigger than a pony." he says, grinning at the last

• Dionysus nods, grinning. "It's about half a day north of here to Corin's encampment, it says. We can be there & back by nightfall, probably. I'll arrange things. Come on."
• Dionysus arranges steeds.
• Arsul rides

Dionysus Then no need to roll, give yerself a riding of 16 fo rnow.

Dionysus It's half a day to the encampment, the sounds of the city falling away, the sounds of the plains hitting you as you go.

• Dionysus tells you eventually, "I'll do the talking. Just try to not touch anyone & be polite.

Dionysus "The people are very sensitive."

Dionysus He shouts in a strange tongue.

Dionysus A flurry of speech goes on around you, & you are lead to a place where Dionysus invites you to dismount & have a seat.

• Arsul nods and will avoid touching people
• Arsul does so

Dionysus You are handed a pot of something warm, & Dionysus whispers, "Eat. It's polite." In between talking in Roma.

Dionysus There's laughter, talking, & then... "Well, before we leave, we owe them a song, Arsul. Any preferences?"

• Arsul eats
• Arsul turns to Dionysus. "Leave? Um-- no, you?"

Dionysus He says, "Not really. Anything the two of us do should work for them. Make it lively."

• Arsul nods. "Follow me."
• Arsul makes it a tribal inspired dance like song

Dionysus When it's done, the cheers are wild & passionate.

• Arsul grins immediately when he hears it
• Dionysus urges you to bow with him, then starts talking in Roma, ending with "Say goodbye, Arsul."

Arsul "Goodbye." he says, a little confused

• Arsul bows when directed

Arsul Do they or we leave?

• Dionysus leads you back to the steeds. "Sorry about the confusion. They don't much like not speaking their own tongue, & you're a bit of an outsider &... Well, they have odd prejudices. The Gift helped, of course. But Hunny..." He leaves off. "Corin says the tribe with your sons is over on the other coast, near Namarc."
• Arsul nods. "Oh. Good. I thought they wouldn't let me see them at first."

Arsul "Did he say anything else about them?"

• Dionysus says, "I didn't press him. Your children are not... pretty, Arsul. The Roma are very superstitious. The tribe they are with is one of the more liberal ones."
