Dionysus & Arsul go to meet Arsul's son not far from V'honia.

Dionysus He's supposed to be station in a small town not far away with an army training facility.

Arsul_T so we head that way

Dionysus Dionysus acquires some mules for the journey, if you let him.

• Arsul_T is ammenable

Dionysus It takes a day & a half to reach the small town. It's very warm, dry, & rocky around here. When you reach the small town, you're quite ready for a drink & a good bed, most likely.

• Arsul_T starts with the drink but will ask about where the army is housed before sleeping

Dionysus "The fort's near the river," the bartender gives directions.

Arsul_T "They allow visitors this late?"

Dionysus "If they got a reason for bein' there, I guess."

Arsul_T "Dionysus, do you feel up to going now?"

Dionysus You hear him move, then he says, "I'll manage. Let's go."

Arsul_T "Thank you."

Dionysus The streets are quiet at this hour, but there's a smell of dirt & water in the air, the rhythmic chirping of frogs by the river, & a clatter of hooves as you near the fort.

Dionysus A gruff voice inquires in Kren'atanic, "Who goes there?"

Arsul_T "Shit. You do speak it yes?"

• Dionysus answers him in Kren'atanic, after a few moments, Dionysus says, "Do you know your son's name?"
• Arsul_T frowns. "No. But I can try and find out."
• Dionysus says, "It'd help."

Dionysus No vision.

Arsul_T I'll try again

Arsul_T this one to find out where he is in the fort instead of his name

Dionysus You get a clear vision of him in barracks room number 18. He looks like a very ugly, puffy cheecked human.

• Arsul_T turns to Dionysus. "Not his name but he's in room 18. Big cheeks."
• Dionysus talks some more. "Arsul," Dionysus asks, a note of amusement in your voice, "That narrows it down to Privates First Class Andres or Toutant. Which would it be, do you think?"

Arsul_T "Well, I think it might be Toutant." he says grinning

Dionysus "Let's go."

• Arsul_T nods and follows

Dionysus A few minute's walk takes you across a courtyard, through a building, to a door, where a thick accent says, "He inside."

• Arsul_T nods thankfully

Dionysus Dionysus says he'll wait in the hall with Hunny.

Arsul_T "I'll call if I need a translator." he pats Hunny on the head before he goes in

Arsul_T "Toutant?" he asks after entering the room

Dionysus The door, when you try it, is locked.

Arsul_T or, I knock after I try the door instead of walking in and calling

Dionysus That would be more polite, too.

Dionysus A voice says something in Kren'atanic, then you hear the locks slide open & the door swing a bit, then the voice says something else in Kren'atanic. Questioning.

Arsul_T "Toutant?"

Dionysus He says the Kren'atanic word for yes, which you can likely pick out.

• Arsul_T nods. "Do you speak Marradonic?"

Dionysus "Yes, small Maraddons."

Arsul_T "May I speak with you?"

Dionysus "What can I do?"

Arsul_T "I'm Arsul Toutant. I'm your father." the last is slightly rushed

• Arsul_T waits apprehensively

Dionysus A pause, "You Toutant?"

• Arsul_T nods. "Yes."

Dionysus Another pause, then rapidfire Kren'atanic to someone behind him. "Me Andres," he says.

Dionysus He's... you're pretty sure from the note of laughter in his voice that this man is up to something mischievous.

Dionysus "Toutant, meet father!" the man says, & another voice gasps in horror.

• Arsul_T frowns "What?"

Arsul_T "Shit." He mutters under his breath

Dionysus The other voice says, "Me father! Many year, no meet!"

Arsul_T "Toutant? I want to speak to him."

• Arsul_T is slightly flustered

Arsul_T "Hello. I'm Arsul Toutant." He tries to speak to the other voice.

Dionysus "Me father? Me father!" You feel an embrace.

• Arsul_T smiles slightly and returns it.

Dionysus You smell the liquor, & you feel & hear as both the men start laughing. You hear a thump as one of them apaprently falls to the ground.

• Arsul_T frowns

Arsul_T "You are not Toutant?"

Dionysus The first voice says, "No, I am. It's good to meet you in person, father."

Dionysus His Maraddonian has improved drastically.

• Arsul_T shakes his head and smiles slightly

Dionysus "I have seen your visions for many months now."

Arsul_T "I-- I found out about you and came to meet you."

• Arsul_T cocks his head to the side. "Do you see through the eyes of others?"

Dionysus "I know what the family knows."

• Arsul_T nods slightly. "You are similar to Guiteau then, I think."
• Arsul_T smiles slightly

Dionysus "He sees the past. I see all that occurs in the present. I would have sought you out, but at first, you didn't seem to know or care, & then... you were seeking me. Besides, it's hard to get extended leave right now."

Arsul_T "Understandably. Can I ask you a question?"

Dionysus "Of course."

Arsul_T "Your siblings. Are they all right?"

Dionysus His voice grows grim, "Most have been killed. Relatively few remain."

Arsul_T "I know. The ones that remain."

Dionysus "They are hunted by the enemies of our family. Some are better off than others, but most are doing well. They're the best protected, one way or another."

Arsul_T "Thank you. I want to meet the rest of you but as you may know this is a pressing time. I'm sorry." he shakes his head. "I-I'm glad to be meeting you now, --" he pauses, embarassed. "I don't have your name yet." he grins slightly sheepish.

Dionysus "Dukat Toutant. My mother was a human woman named Elka. She was a sweet voiced lady of the streets who once travelled to Maraddon City, where she had a chance negotiation with a cellist."

• Arsul_T smiles. "Of course she was. I have a weakness for sweet voiced ladies. How did you come to be a Kren'atan soldier?"

Dionysus "Well, she returned here after a few years in Maraddon, & everyone in this nation of sound body is encouraged to join the military. I didn't see why not, I suppose, & now... Well, there's plenty to attend to."

• Arsul_T nods. "It's good work, I hear." he grins. "Not for me, obviously."

Dionysus He laughs, "It's a good life, I think. I enjoy it. And one day, I'll make officer."

Arsul_T "Good. I'm glad. And it'll help you stay safe I think. As screwed up as that may seem."

Dionysus His roommate says, "I kill babykillers gladly."

Dionysus Dukat laughs, "We've had our share of run ins."

• Arsul_T nods. "I'm glad you're trained."

Dionysus "Best military in the world, sir!" You hear his hand move & realize he's snapping off a salute, jokingly.

• Arsul_T smiles

Arsul_T "I know you probably know plenty about me but do you have any questions for me?"

Dionysus "Now, it's almost lights out for us, sir, so we have to be for bed, & I have a hunch you've places you need to be. When you're done with your quest, come back to visit. I'll save my leave for then."

Arsul_T "I will Ducat." he pats him on the shoulder

Dionysus He hugs you.

• Arsul_T nods to where he heard the other man was

Dionysus The man laughs, though you don't know it's because he's waving back.

Arsul_T "Stay safe." he says before leaving

Dionysus You go sleep, then head back to where the airship is to meet you?

Arsul_T yes
