In southeastern Jesenranu, these large cave bears are among the most feared beasts of the area. They can move completely silently at night, and under the full moon, they become invisible. They are so feared, none dare refer to them by name, instead calling them gwer (wild animal). A yearly hunt is intended to keep them at bay, but rarely works. Those who live with them are called arktoi, and they are usually young women who worship the Moons.
