Description:
The eating of hot things is a compulsion. In fact, Arcturus is pretty compulsive in general. If he sees a thread, he has to pull on it, just to see what happens. He is quick to anger, and slow in returning to even temper, unless there is outside intervention. He is impatient. He would rather be on the move--even when he lacks a clear heading--rather than stay in one spot and wait.
He likes to add salt to his honey. His family is used to his doing so; others in his village look at him oddly; strangers assume all werebears do this.
He is driven by a vague and unarticulated feeling that things--the interesting things, the ones that are important and that are not merely wasting time or, worst of all, waiting--are going on /elsewhere/. There is always one more river to cross, one more valley to explore. Maybe in the next one.
He is hardy even for his race. He can go without water for many days, and then binges on it, like a camel (or a hibernating bear). With food, even more so. He doesn't count sleep as "doing nothing," and in fact enjoys it quite a bit. Not a good idea to wake him up.
He has a tendency to walk with his mouth slightly open; he would never say so aloud, but he thinks doing so marginally improves his hearing and sense of smell (which are already good to begin with).
Like a magpie, if he sees something bright, particularly yellow, he is likely to go toward it, pick it up, and find a way to wear it on his person. Consequently by the end of his journeys he tends to look like a pinata.
He doesn't exactly drag his knuckles when he walks, but he allows himself a slight, not entirely unsimian-like stoop.
