An ammut has the head of a crocodile, the front part of her body like a lion or leopard, and her back part in the form of a hippopotamus. She dwells in swamps & jungle river valleys, & her meal is the sinful. An immortal beast, an ammut devours a person soul & all, the greater the sins of the person, the more viciously she will attack. She generally eats people whole, but all she wants is the heart, the place where the body & soul connect.
