They were elected after the Camisade (the attack by the authorities 60 years ago that killed the first Counterblast and nearly wiped out the Blue Grith). They survived because no one suspected their clinic, and they were nearly broken when they could not fully heal Na'qia. They cared for her during her coma, which gained her the respect of their fellow Grith members and got them elected.

Jabeh: The jabeh is a box given to the Secretary for Support that can keep any perishable material preserved for as long as it is in the box. It can also multiply any necessities stored within, making sure there is enough for up to 20 people to eat, be healed, or have clothing or comfort. Medicines, bandages, food, drink, blankets, clothing, and other smaller necessities can be stored and multiplied in it. It has a magical power of 20.
