| Species | Ambrosial Gnome |
| Over-species | Gnome |
| Classification | Vaettir |
| Family | Sundry Gnome |
| Sphere | Balance |
| Origin | From the rules of the Divine. |
| Lifespan | 80-120 years |
| Habitat | High rocky mountains, where they live in burrows and earthen structures |
| Food | The smelliest, most unusual aspects of human fare |
| Description | Ambrosial gnomes are short (about 3.5'), Their heads are slightly too big for their bodies. They have big noses, wide grins, and dark human-hued hair and skin. |
| Procreation | Gnomes breed with each other, where the type of gnome is determined by the mother of the gnome. Breeding with non-gnomes is only possible with supernatural intervention. |
| Esoterica | Gnomes are hegnhic beings who are compelled to obey specific rules. By obeying the rules, they gain insights into systems and mechanism that gives them a supernatural affinity for devices and engineering. Ambrosial gnomes also gain insights into divine engineering through divine energies. Gnomes can use almost any supernatural energy except entropy, and ambrosial gnomes cannot wield blasphemy. The most commonly used are Foundation, aether, ethereal essence, yahas, void, mashoaab, damaskian power, dumaqu, arnum, and ordinal power. All ambrosial gnomes have faith. |
| Special Powers | Ambrosial gnomes have supernatural skill with engineering and devices. Like all gnomes, they have gnomish illogic damage, wherein their inevitably dangerously failed experiments do not, in fact, hurt them. They also tend to inherently know if someone has faith. |
| Weaknesses | Entropy and blasphemy. If a gnome violates their rules, they become a rogue gnome whose energies are askew and dangerous. |
| Rules | Ambrosial gnomes must obey three basic rules:
|
| Culture | The community leaders of ambrosial gnomes are called clerics. Clerics are religious leaders, teachers, and master engineers. Clerics are chosen by the Divine and have no specific religion, instead following almost all of them that they can. When an ambrosial gnome is born, they are taken by their parents to the local clerics, and the clerics bless the child. The child is then tested every year until they show an affinity to one faith or another. Ambrosial gnomes study faiths from all over the world, and their clerics try to understand and honor as many as possible. This usually involves about 20 or 30 different faiths at once. When a child is ready to choose a faith, they begin to study with a cleric. At the same time, their extended family teaches them the basics of various forms of engineering (whatever the family chooses). When they have a grounding in the basics, the child then goes off to a school with a focus on their faith. If a child does not choose a specific faith by their 20th year, they are taken to be a cleric, though some actively choose to be a cleric before this. Once an ambrosial gnome comes of age, they begin work as a divine engineer with a focus on their specific faith. They learn to craft devices, machines, and structures that work the power of their faith. They learn to wield the power of this faith to make things as well. They imbue their work with faith. |
| Engineering | Ambrosial gnomes are skilled with divine engineering. Divine engineering is the designing and building of devices and machines and structures that use divine energies. They build faith-based technology. |
