DIRECTOR IPANYM BACK AT THE STUDIOS

Out with Watley, Ipanym Says

Director Alsandairus Ipanym has returned to work for a major studio for the first time in five years. His new film, THE PIRATE AND THE PRINCESS, starring Noble Clarkson and Tako Miiji, is due out next fall. Since his inspired beginning with SIDNEY, Dir. Ipanym has failed to capture audiences with his ever changing style, but this time, studios have hope he can turn a contractual obligation into success.

But all is not well at Aurdog Studios, which opted to contract Dir. Ipanym for the film. Reports indicate that on the first day on set, Dir. Ipanym and Dir. Seamon Coranizo, famed and lauded director of ALDERGAST and THE DEPTHS, had a falling out over staffing, ending with much of Dir. Coranizo's team going over to Dir. Ipanym's picture. The continuing writer's strike has left Dir. Coranizo without a picture to film.

When asked about the strike, Dir. Ipanym said, 'I sincerely hope that the studio and the union comes to an agreement soon so that we can bring our friends back to work.' However, reports indicate he will be receiving writing credit for his upcoming picture, and several of his associates have been hired on as writing consultants. In the current contractual arrangement between the writers guild and Aurdog Studios, this situation is allowed for any member of the director's guild in good standing.

'I've proof he's behind in his dues,' said Dir. Coranizo. 'And I will have him before the guild's board by Uqtium.'

Dir. Coranizo asserts that Dir. Ipanym is not in good standing with the guild, and that his very hiring has put the future negotiations between writers and the studios in jeopardy. Writers guild representative Aloysius Mackey said, 'It's this sort of behavior that drives home our protests. The studios are exploiting our work for far more profit than we're seeing, and then they turn around and find loopholes to benefit off honest workers even more. It's time we sent a message to the studios.'

Studio representatives could not be reached for comment.

Meanwhile, Armande Green, the new President of Aurdog Studios, has announced his candidacy for mayor. His announcement came as something of a surprise to the general public, but man-on-the-street Charles Whitney Gleason was quick to say, 'Oh, he's a ripe one, sir. He'll do just fine, I dare say. The people know a winner when they see one, and that's Mr. Green and his movies. I just loved DEAD OF NIGHT. Do you know that one?'

Dir. Ipanym was quick to assert his disapproval of incumbent mayor Jonas Watley, 'We can't wait for some kind of mythic hero to rescue us.' However, he also did not vouch support for his boss, Mr. Green. He said, 'That's a scary thought!'

Echoing the studio's silence on the matter of the locust attacks, Dir. Ipanym denied knowledge of the attacks. In the last three days, twelve people have died at studios other than Aurdog Studios, and last night, two were found dead in Lot 37 of Aurdog Studios.

Police have put out an alert for the populace to be aware of strange behavior in their neighbors, especially any indications of cult activity or dark magic. Police deny the studios are suspected of foul play. Police also warn citizens to be alert for sounds of buzzing or strange breezes. Citizens are encouraged to seek cover should any of these occur, and to alert the authorities as soon as possible. SEE PAGE A1 FOR FULL STORY, LOCUST SWARMS STRIKE AGAIN.
