| Description | Alabaster dwarves have pure white hair and skin that ranges from pale, chalky white to faded grey. They are stocky and stout, and they stand about 4' to 5' tall and have broad-shoulders. Beards and braids are commonly worn. |
| Procreation | With each other. Half-dwarves are not possibly without esoteric intervention. |
| Esoterica | Dwarves are aetherial beings, born from the earthpower imbuing the stones they are crafted from. They are capable of using any other supernatural energies, but msawhat is rare and often corrupts and destroys them. For alabaster dwarves, heavenly light is also always found in them. Divine energies, other forms of aether (especially white tiger), ethereal energy, Foundation, dumaqu, arnum, poioumenon, Damaskian power, and mashoaab are all very common. |
| Special Powers | Alabaster dwarves' aetherial powers are their ability to see in the dark and their skill in crafting stone. Working with stone and earth allows them to attain earthpower, but they only gain heavenly light by sharing what they make with others. Common powers gained from this include being able to evoke light from stone, healing salves made from powdered stone, and protective charms. All dwarves are known for their steady feet, their inborn toughness, and their shrewdness. |
| Weaknesses | Msawhat can corrupt and destroy them. Alabaster dwarves are also harmed by infernum. |
| Culture | Alabaster dwarves dwell in caverns that encircle special holy spaces made from angeline alabaster and other holy materials. Their communities are very close-knit, where they share responsibilities for taking care of all the community's needs. The needs of the community always come first, with every dwarf taking turns on various tasks and chores in the community, usually on some sort of rotation. No matter their rank or status, every dwarf takes part or risks banishment. Their communities are led by religious elders and an elected thane. The thane is elected by all adult dwarfs in good standing in the community (that is, they have kept up with their communal chores). The elders take care of the special holy places at the heart of the community and make laws, and the thane enforces those laws. These laws often determine the local needs and work and inter-communal trade. Families live in intergenerational homes, taking care of the young and the elderly. Each family has their own set of chores and tasks in the community, and in their free time, they engage in their own pursuits. These pursuits are usually crafts and businesses. These are passed down within the family, and if a dwarf prefers to learn something new, they must trade with another family to do so. |
| Crafts | Alabaster dwarves work with light. They work with stone, gems, and metals, but all to produce and shape and direct light. Candle-makers, lantern-makers, and other light sources are revered, and masons are important parts of this work, as well as glass-makers, smiths, and jewelers. They gain earthpower from their works with metal and stone and gems, but in order to gain heavenly light, they must share their works with others freely. Gift giving is extremely common, and giving the perfect gift is considered the highest of craftsmanship. Alabaster and gold are very common materials as well. |
