Description Akri are hairless, thin-framed demihumans with skin color ranging from dark grey to dark brown. Their skin is usually very rough. They have narrow heads and long fingers. They wear loose clothing.
Procreation With each other, it follows the mother. With other demihumans, humans, and pseudohumans, it varies, but mixed nations are very rare.
Esoterica Akri are beings of gebvel and mashoaab. They also use Damaskian energies, mystery, the gates, kor, earthpower aether, fundamental aether, fate, doom, hegnh, self-denial, mana, Foundation, and symbolism.
Accumulation

Akri phase through stone to absorb metals, which they convert to mashoaab and gebvel. When they get too much gebvel, they must release it. They usually do this by touching a wall or another akri. When they reach the age of 160, they have unlimited accumulative capacity and do not need to release gebvel. Instead, they use it to build with.

Special Powers Akri can see in low light and have resistance to cold and heat. They are very tough skinned.
Weaknesses Cacophonic energies can harm them.
Culture

The focus of akri society is building. They create intricate buildings in the cavern walls, along the ground, across the roof of their caverns. They reshape the stone, fragment by fragment.

Their towns and cities are led by an elected mayor and city council. There is a national leadership council elected by members of the city councils. They have a powerful set of trade unions, merchant guilds, neighborhood councils, and financial organizations with great sway over the local and national politics, however. There are sharp boundaries drawn between workers and owners, and this creates friction that only these institutions can represent.

Children are raised by their families. Gender is strictly defined and limited to three. Every child goes to school at age six until age 16, at which time they begin working if they are a worker and going to secondary education if they are an owner. They are considered adults at age 21, at which time they can vote, run for election, and join a council, guild, or union. Courtship between classes is prohibited by law, but sometimes happens. Courtship is very neatly defined for each gender. Marriage is a sacred and important ritual that is only allowed under specific circumstances, however. Having children without getting married is preferred; even having a long-term committed relationships without marriage is preferred, as marriage is seen as a loss of boundary.

Every akri community is walled off, and the protection of the walls is a sacred duty given over only to the greatest of their soldiers. This elite force is the only path workers have to being owners, if they serve 50 years as a wall guard.
