| Description | Ahkiyyini appear to be skeletal figures wearing the clothes they died or were buried in. |
| Corruption | When someone spends too much time dancing, playing drums, or in other musical frivolity in life, to the detriment of their responsibilities in an extreme way, they can be corrupted and become an ahkiyyini. |
| Esoterica | Ahkiyyini are beings of cacophony, Raesian energy, and msawhat. They have weakened versions of their powers from life, but none of qi, the gates, or heavenly essences. In undeath, they sometimes learn arts of misfortune, feirua, uafas, brown aether, hunger, arnum, currents aether, vile energy, doom, black nommos, parasitic energy, earthpower aether, winds aether, shebv heya, Damaskian powers, mijjit, spirits, paradox, and flux. |
| Special Powers | Ahkiyyini cause unease in those who are aware of them. An ahkiyyini uses their arm bone as a drum stick to beat their scapula, creating eerie music that causes the ground to shake and rivers to become turbulent. When someone drowns near them, they can catch and devour the souls |
| Necromancy | To intentionally create an ahkiyyini, a necromancer or cacophoner must kill a frivolous musician whose behavior has caused great harm to others (or manipulate someone into this) by luring them in to drown and casting a special stone (12) into the water after them. The stone must be either made of bismuth or hollowed out by noise. To control an ahkiyyini, one must have one of their bones wrapped in a velvet ribbon around one's neck; to summon one, one must speak their Name backwards into the rushing river. To capture one and draw its power, one must bind them in grey and white velvet ribbons and drop them to the bottom of the river, save for one bone kept around the neck of the caster. |
| Sending | Beautiful music that would make them weep might send an ahkiyyini. |
| Weaknesses | Euphony harms them most, but qi, the gates, and heavenly essences can send the ahkiyyini. |
| Behavior | Ahkiyyini use their cacophonic powers to sink ships and kill all the passengers. |
| Dominion Culture | In Fellwood Dominion, ahkiyyini are part of the commoner class, used as wreckers by the river, guards, and fell musicians. |
| Other Dominions | Ahkiyyini are rare in most Dominions, but they serve a special role in the Pandemonian Dominion as seaside guards. |
| Mortal Interactions | Ahkiyyini are viewed by most mortals as a moral tale, a warning to others. When they interact with one in reality, the reaction is usually disbelief. |
| Afterlife | Ahkiyyini can achieve redemption if they find a song of beauty to redeem themselves. Most end up spending a few centuries in the in-between before moving on to the Grey Lands, Hells, or Broken Obelisk. |
