Imperial Deities
The imperial deities worshiped in Talune are mostly taken from the other empires. Theirs is a religion that assimilated many other religions into a contradictory set of philosophies that ultimately promote imperial power, prosperity gospel, toxic individualism, patriarchy, racial hierarchies, exploitation, oppression, division, and ignorance in the guise of promoting prosperity, personal freedom, family values, the greater good, and the inherent goodness of imperial leadership.
They are split between the major deities and the minor deities:
Major Deities
- Dea Regia, the Queen of the Gods, goddess of authority and power, a deity whose symbol is the crowned snake, a goddess who believes in ambition over all else. She is based on the goddess of the Vesturian Empire.
- Deus Maior, the Greater God, a deity of imperial authority and special hierarchies, a deity of uniqueness and specialness, of those who are advantaged and inherently better. He is based on a far-southeastern deity.
- Deus Solitarius, the Lone God, a god whose philosophy encourages individualism and bootstraps, a deity honored by those who believe themselves singular, a deity of self-importance.
- Eum, the God Above All, the lord of all gods, the god of gods, the master god, who unites all imperial gods. He is based on the One True God of Harkenheim.
- Opulentius, the Diamond God, god of wealth and fortune, god of gold and diamond, patron of bankers, merchants, and traders, a god of contracts. A very well liked deity who encourages exploitation and greed. He is based on the god of the Kurati Empire.
- Pater Patrum, Father of Fathers, the patron of fathers and patriarchs, the lord god, the father-god, the god who curses witches and enforces patriarchal values.
- Polymitarius, the Weaver, god of weavers, orators, and entertainers, a worker god who is known for his cunning and cleverness. Those who pray to him believe that they are justified in their actions if they get away with them, and that a skill with words is a form of artistry and craft. He is based on the Srisian God.
- Pulchrituda, the Beautiful, goddess of beauty, a goddess who encourages ideal forms, beauty, pride, and self-worth, a goddess who believes that beauty is a sign of perfection and goodness, and that ugliness reflects the sins of the person.
- Purissimus, the Masked God, god of families and patron of the tribes, a god who demands racial purity and metaphysical purity as well. Those who pray to him believe they are pure of blood and family. He is based on the Stolzene God.
- Rota Fumi, the Wheel of Smoke, god of industry, patron of founders and smiths and machinists, a god of progress. Those who pray to him believe in mortals' right to conquer nature itself. He is based on the deity of Lyfane.
- Ultimus, the Final God, god of redemption and the end, a deity who promises salvation in the end times, a deity who represents the belief that redemption only comes when all things end.
- Veritas, the Goddess of Truth, a goddess who followers believe truth is what they say it is, who seek to control the truth, who shape the truth, who believe in subjectivity over objectivity not in a sincere philosophy but as a means to an end, to control the narrative. She is based on the goddess of Baradin.
- Victoris, the God of Conquest, a war god who patrons warriors and militaries, a deity who blesses sword, shield, and warhorse. Those who pray to him believe in conquest, colonization, and war. They believe might makes right. He is based on the god of Furich Amol.
Minor Deities
- Aeternus, Goddess of the Mists, the grey goddess who promises inmortality to those who follow her, a psychopomp goddess who guides all who die to eternity. She is based on the goddess of Kael'Ras.
- Aquae Profundae, the god of the deeps, the one who dwells in the deepst waters, the deity of loss, a deity who takes the souls of dead children, new parents, those who die in childbirth, the stillborn, and others who never had a chance and guides them in the afterlife.
- Catena Factorum, the Chain Maker, god of smiths and artisans, a worker god who is also patron of slaveowners and slavers. Those who pray to him believe that there is a natural order in which some and some own and rule. He is based on the god of Urayme.
- Cicatrix, the Scarred Goddess, the goddess of the downtrodden, a goddess whose philosophy says that misery is deserved and those who succeed are those who are stronger than their own emotions, a goddess who says suicide is sacred and despair is power and hope is a lie.
- Cor Induratum, the God of the Chasm, the god of the heart, a god worshiped by those who believe emotions must be controlled, suppressed, and wielded, a faith of ruthlessness, hedonism, and psychopathy masquerading as self-control. He is based on the god of Benhoras.
- Deus Cavus, the God of the Empty Halls, a god of authority and power, a god honored by the nobility as he justifies their power, a god of feudalism and divine right. He is based on the god of Mal'sk.
- Exhauriens, the Divine President, a god of teaching, learning, and instruction, of knowledge, or at least imperially approved information. He is based on the god of Terre Blanche.
- Fervidus, the Boar God, a minor war god honored by those who rely upon rage and wrath, those who believe in the sacredness of violence, those who engage in bodily dominance and power. He is an old deity who is overshadowed by Victoris. He is based on the god of Tzuk.
- Fragmentus, the Rending God, a minor god of when things break, a god you throw salt over your shoulder for when you spill something, a god you curse in the name of when you drop a plate, a god of small breaks and big breaks, a god of destruction.
- Impetus Clamoris, the Shattering, a war goddess known for her ritual war cries, extreme violence, and the cacophonous music her priestesses make. Those who pray to her believe in power through disconnection and discordance, in war as a means of domination, in surprise attack and taking opportunities.
- Lues, the God of Plagues, a god prayed to to prevent disease, a god of pestilence and disease who exists as a warning and a protector therefrom. He is based on the god of Vendale and Fennvell.
- Nuntius Sanguinans, the Bleeding Angel, a goddess who brought the doctrine of blood to the people, who taught them to bleed for the sake of the empire, a goddess of who teaches that those who take deserve to take and those who are taken from deserve to be taken from. She is based on the goddess of Endruin.
- Rariores, the One-Winged God, a god who demand fasting, a god of the harvest, a god of self-denial and control, a deity who says those who eat deserve it and those who don't don't.
- Spumabundus, the God of the Abyss, a sea god, a god of the chaotic wilds, a god of change, a god called to in times when the unpredictable happens.
- Terriculum, the Lord of Dreams, the dreammaker, the god of visions and creativity, who also brings nightmares and causes terror in those who disobey. He is based on the god of Tromlui and Arunel.
- Uncinus, the Hookmaker, god of fishers and tribulations, a god who people turn to in hard times to "fish" for resources and aid. Those who pray to him belief that the pains of life are a sign of their own sins and what they deserve.
- Venatrix, the Huntress, goddess of the imperial hunt, goddess of thorns and green, a goddess of hunting for sport and the sake of killing. She is based on the goddess of Mwyr Aeld.
- Venti Validi, the Dragon of Winds, a god of the winds of change and fortune, the god who brings calamities to those who have offended and power to those who know how to take advantage of a moment.
Adversary
All imperial deities are contrasted with Diabolus, the lord of demons, who is the Master of Perdition.
