It follows the mother amongst elves. Halfbreeds are possible outside faeborn.

Elven powers work two ways: first, when a group of elves lives in an area, they begin to dominate life there, shaping the environment around them simply by existing. Second, the way they live their lives determines the sort of abilities they develop as they grow up.

For Windkeep elves, the mountain homes become beacons for all manner of flying things. Mountain side forests crop up & the mountains themselves bend to their will, creating terraces & cities from their stones. The winds bow to them.

Individual powers relate to the wind.

They can speak to falcons.

Windkeep elves are dedicated to flight. They revere anything that flies above all else. Their cities are called aeries, & they focus much of their energies on tending flying animals & creating flying devices--mechanical or magical.

Their whole culture is dominated by this obsession with flight, & because of this, many of their cities overhang cliffs & ledges, creating spots where Windkeep elves can drop into a freefall. In the right conditions, the updrafts will lift them back into the buildings. This recreation is called "dropping."

Windkeep elves as a whole are reckless & flighty.

Air burials are the common form of burial for a Windkeep elf. A Windkeep elf who is not buried in such a way is believed to be trapped on Shem forever.

Like all elves, they bear an inherent superior attitude that other races usually deem as arrogant. Furthermore, all elven societies are matrilineal.
